Ingredients

  • Wontons:
  • 1 packet square wonton wrappers (about 40 sheets)

  • 150 g ground chicken thighs

  • 150 g peeled and deveined shrimp

  • 1 tablespoon egg white

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce

  • 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper

  • For soup
  • 3 cups chicken broth

  • 3 scallion roots

  • 2 garlic cloves , smashed

  • 1 cm piece of ginger , sliced

  • 1 1/2 tbsp tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1/4 – 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Directions

  • For wantons, In a food processor, blitz all wanton ingredients except for prawns and wrappers. Fold in roughly chopped prawns. Place a teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the middle of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Seal the edges to form a triangle shape.
  • Bring broth ingredients to a boil and season to taste. Boil wantons in the broth till they float.
