So smooth and silky, makes you wanting more.

Ingredients

  • 500 g silken tofu, or soft block tofu, about 1 lb

  • 1 ½ tablespoon neutral cooking oil

  • 3 stalks scallions, finely chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 inch ginger, sliced

  • ½ teaspoon chilli flakes, or ground dried chilli, optional

  • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon black rice vinegar

  • 1 pinch sugar

  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnishing

Directions

  • Invert the tofu on a steaming-safe plate.
  • Steam for 5 min.
  • For the gravy, sauté garlic, leeks and ginger until fragrant. Add all other ingredients and cook until thickened.
  • Pour over the steamed tofu and garnish with more scallions and sesame seeds.
