  • Ingredient A
  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Ingredient B
  • 1 3/4 cups milk of choice + 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1/3 cup butter of choice melted or vegetable oil

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp red food colouring

  • Cream cheese glaze( optional if you want to go 100% plant based or serve with plant based ice cream)
  • 100 g cream cheese, softened (room temp)

  • 4 tbsp butter, softened (room temp)

  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup whole milk


  • For waffles mix all ingredients B together.
  • Pour in mixture B into Ingredients A which has been sifted together. Mix till there are no lumps.
  • Cook in a waffle maker.
  • For cream cheese glaze, whisk softened cream cheese with butter. Add in vanilla and icing sugar. Pour in milk till you get the desired consistency.
