Ingredients

  • Ingredients A
  • 120 g pumpkin puree

  • Ingredients B
  • 45 g fine sugar

  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast + 1/2 tbsp warm water

  • Ingredients C
  • 65 g plain flour

  • 65 g glutinous rice flour

  • 1 tbsp corn oil

Directions

  • In a wok steam ingredients A together till pumpkin is soft. Remove pandan leaves and blitz pumpkin till smooth.
  • Mix ingredients B together and let it sit for 5 mins. Fold into cooled pumpkin puree.
  • Mix in ingredients C until a soft dough is formed. Divide to 50g portions and place on banana leaves and place in steamer that has warm water (not boiling!). Leave to proof for 30 mins.
  • Bring the water to boil and steam for 15 mins. Turn off steamer and leave in the steamer for 5 mins before removing.
