Ingredients

  • 150 g butter

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 40 g caster sugar

  • 25 g milk powder

  • 225 g low protein flour

  • 15 g cornflour

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

  • 2 tsp sakura powder

  • 2 tsp matcha powder

Directions

  • Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add in vanilla, salt, milk powder and flour. Mix till you get a soft dough.
  • Remove ¼ of the dough and divide the ¼ portion into two. fold one portion with sakura powder and the other half with green match powder.
  • Chill dough in the fridge for 15 mins.
  • Roll out red dough into ¼ inch thickness and cut out floral shapes using a cookie cutter. Roll out green dough into ¼ inch thickness and cut out leaf shapes. Reserve and set aside in the fridge.
  • Roll out the other dough into 1⁄4 inch thickness. Place cut put red floral shapes and green leaf shapes on top of the rolled out dough. Cover with a parchment paper and slightly flatten the dough to ensure the floral cut outs adhere. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out round shapes and place onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 175C for 20 mins or until cooked through.
