Ingredients

  • Ingredients A
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cup milk

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • Candied chilli
  • 2 red chillies, deseeded and sliced

  • 1/2 cup caster sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients A together until there are no lumps.
  • Cook in a waffle maker till crisp (approximately 6 mins).
  • For candied chillies, heat sugar water and cinnamon together till sugar dissolves. Poach chillies in the syrup for 20 mins. Drain and leave to dry.
  • Serve chocolate waffles with ice cream and candied chillies.
