Ingredients

  • 1 block (approx 400g) tofu

  • Ingredient A
  • 1 green onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp gochugaru

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp black vinegar

  • Ingredient B
  • 1/4 cup canola oil

  • 1 shallot

  • 1 anise star

  • 1 small bay leaf

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppercorn

Directions

  • Place ingredient B into a small pot and heat gently. Leave to infuse for 30 mins minimum. Pass through a sift and keep oil in the pot.
  • Mix all ingredients A in a small bowl.
  • Usinga straw, make small holes on tofu. Steam tofu for 10 mins.
  • Place ingredients A on the tofu.
  • Heat oil in the pot and pour over ingredients A on tofu.
