Chinese Steamed Pumpkin Cake (Savoury) 0 from 0 votes Course: MainCuisine: AsianDifficulty: Easy Servings12servingsPrep time20minutesCooking time40minutes Ingredients 250 g pumpkin, shredded100 g meat, diced, seasoned with salt and pepper (optional)50 g dried shrimp, blended coarsely (optional)3 shiitake mushrooms, chopped coarsely75 g preserved turnip, tai tau choy, chopped coarsely1 tbsp garlic, minced1 tbsp shallot, minced2 tbsp vegetable oilBatter250 g rice flour, sifted38 g Tapioca flour, sifted500 ml waterSeasoning2 tsp salt1 tsp sugar1/2 tsp vegetable stock granules1/2 tsp ground white pepperGarnishing Fried shallots, spring onion and red chillies Directions Heat oil in a wok and sauté onions and garlic till fragrant. Add in meat and cook through. Add in pumpkin, dried shrimp, turnip and toss well.Add in seasoning and batter mixture and cook till the mixture thickens.Pour into a heat proof bowl and steam for 40 mins. Top off with garnishings.
