Ingredients

  • 400 g red apples, peeled and cored

  • 30 g (2 tbsp) unsalted butter

  • 65 g (1/3 cup) raisins

  • **Pre-Mix A
  • 1 tbsp (30g) brown sugar

  • 1 tsp (3g) salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Other
  • 1 tbsp (15g) cornflour

  • 1 packet puff pastry (500g)

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • Icing sugar, for dusting

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 200C and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
  • In a pan, melt butter and sautee apples, raisins & Pre-Mix A. Cook till tender adding a little water if it’s too dry. Add cornflour and cook till thickened. Leave to cool.
  • Put about 2 tablespoons of apple mixture onto each pastry square and fold over. Press edges with the back of a fork to seal. Place turnovers onto the prepared trays. Brush them lightly with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 15-20 mins, until golden brown. Dust apple puffs with icing sugar and serve warm at room temperature.
