Airfried Sesame Balls

Why not make some plant based sesame and red bean balls? I’m sharing a healthier version than the traditional deep fried ones that are better for you and the planet!

Ingredients

  • Ingredients A
  • 3/4 cups glutinous rice flour

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1/4 cup boiling water

  • Ingredients B
  • 3/4 cup glutinous rice flour

  • 1/4 cup room temperature water (plus 1 tablespoon)

  • Other
  • Red bean paste

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds (raw or toasted are both fine)

  • Peanut or vegetable oil

Directions

  • Mix all of ingredients A together in a big bowl.
  • In a separate bowl mix together ingredients B. fold into ingredients A until you get a smooth homogenous dough. Leave to rest.
  • Divide red bean paste into 24g balls and dough into 45g balls.
  • Wrap red bean paste filling with dough.
  • Coat with sesame seeds.
  • Spray or brush oil over.
  • Cook in a preheated airfryer at 77C for 15 mins and then 176C for 2-5 mins or till golden brown.
